Jenny Davison began her journey as a teen graffiti artist and window painter. She's a Norther California native that's resided in Sacramento since 2002 when met her husband, Marques Davison and launched Interior Motives design firm. After college she pivoted to painting clothing & canvas customs. Her works have been showcased locally in Crocker Art Museum, the City of Sacramento's Mayor's office, MLK Jr. library, Hacker Lab and Sacramento City College, to name a few. Her visions quickly expanded from residential design to commercial merchandising, set design and theatre treatments. After directing Rob Zombie's live theater show in 2004, she went on to produce over 300 live events. Her comfortability in set design and merchandising translated easily to camera and film, made her an underground marketing resource.
In 2005 !X Ethnic Theatre Workshop launched at Sacramento City College. Joining the workshop elevated her community awareness, art and spoken word poetry. From 2006 to 2009 she co-produced the TV shows Life Sentence, Rhythm N' Rhymes Live N' Direct and Sit N' Spin. With the underrepresentation of women in local entertainment community, she began emceeing events, lecturing and competing in poetry slam competitions across the United States representing the City of Sacramento. By 2010 !X ETW, the popular workshop series came to an end at SCC and with the blessing of the professor, campus, alumni, the Davison's took the program into the community for free. The !X Ethnic Theater Workshop group competed in 2015 the National Poetry Slam held in Oakland, Davison herself represented in the 2016 Women of the World International Poetry Slam in Brooklyn New York and in 2018 the team was ranked 28th in the world in Chicago, Illinois! She is now a tenured host at Luna's Café, Joe Montoya's Poetry Unplugged on 1st Thursday's.
Professionally, after consulting in the Los Rios District for 3 years, in 2015, Davison joined the staff at Sacramento City College in the Associated Vice President of Enrollment & Student Services Department as the Discipline Clerk. Jenny stepped up when asked to become an advisor, coordinator and project manager of the Student Leadership & Development departments clubs training and events. From 2017-2019 she worked in the Student Equity & Success Department overseeing the campuses largest student staff through the Cultural Awareness Department and Village Hub's programming transition. Davison primarily trained students about DEI in the workplace and supported them through grant writing to provide DEI related events to the entire student body. This evolved into professional development and conducting training events for staff engaging with disproportionately impacted campus communities. Davison's office carried a 98% student employment retention rate through to transfer and graduation, her diverse staff was scaled up into a cultural peer mentorship program that provided dozens of new federal work study jobs.
In 2019, Jenny accepted an opportunity to join the management & design staff of The Party Concierge, Sacramento’s largest party supply and décor company, specialize in the planning and execution of décor, serving clients like the City of Sacramento, Apple and the Sacramento Kings. Overnight, the pandemic shutdown in-person events from March 2020 through to June 2021. In response, Davison joined the Board of Artist of Sacramento to further contribute to the creative community through resources and business education.
To her surprise opportunities were offered that she hadn't been looking for. Jenny's professional experience, paired with her ability to adapt and create creative teamworking solutions made her multiple executives right hand when implementing change as she was asked to freelanced through furlough. Davison's millionaire client list and efficient service offering began to grow quickly, she prioritized with acquiring a powerhouse diverse staff and upgraded her tech suite to accommodate this reborn business. In the summer of 2020 Davison's focus once again began assist nonprofits, small business and startups with their remote administrative staffing and hybrid training events. Using her 20 years of premier event production, higher education professional development and community event planning experience to provide premium experiences for audiences regardless of the circumstances.
